BFL DIVISIONS OF PLAY
This division will be for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Graders. At this level there are no league standings because there are no records of wins or losses. We just want the children to learn about the game and have fun. In the summer they will practice 2 days per week and once the season starts they will practice for 1 day per week and have their games on Saturdays AM. Players from all towns welcome.
Pee Wee Division
This division will be for 3rd and 4th graders. Offense has a playbook, running a handful of plays and everyone. There are modified rules to ensure safety for the kids and fair play. Practice in the summer will run from Monday thru Thursday and once school starts they will practice 2 days per week with games Saturday mornings. Players from all towns welcome.
Patriots JV Division ( formerly Biddy)
This division will be for 5th and 6th graders. Practice in the summer will run from Monday thru Thursday and once school starts they will practice 2 days per week with games Saturday afternoons at 12:00 PM. Players from all towns welcome
Patriots Varsity Division ( formerly Midget)
This division is for 7th and 8th graders. Practice in the summer will run from Monday thru Thursday and once school starts they will practice 2 days per week with games Saturday afternoons at 2:00 PM. Players from all towns welcome
Travel Division- Jr Skyland Division
Travel division has two (2) levels of play. Jr. Varsity 5th & 6th grade, Varsity for 7th & 8th grade. These teams will be playing in the Junior Skyland Football Conference where they will play opponents similar to the Bridgewater-Raritan High School football team. These level will use high school rules and follow the High School Skyland Conference playing schedule as best as possible. Practice will run from Monday through Thursday in August. Once the season and school starts they will practice 3 days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesday & Thursdays with games on Saturday evenings at 6:00pm and 7:30 PM under the lights.
This is a league which mirrors the schools/towns that the BRHS Football program competes in. Home games for the Jr. Skyland Football Conference teams will be played Saturday night at each respective high school field. Our home games are played on the Turf @ BRHS
Travel teams follow the National Federation of State High School Association rules and safety guideline.
BFL - Building Future Leaders, one play at a time...
The BFL will be involved in two (2) unique leagues.
Instructional Tackle Football which will be part of a league consisting of all Divsions of play except Travel JV & Varsity.
Each town will provide multiple teams at each grade level, K thru 8th to compete in an instructional and competitive league.
Jr. Skyland Conference:
Competitive travel Tackle Football will be part of a league consisting of eight teams in the
Jr. Skyland Football Conference. See the Jr. Skyland web site for playing rules & schedules.
We are a feeder program for the high school program and in doing so; we are preparing our players to compete as they would at those levels. High School football is Unlimited Weight.
